Author Visit Testimonials
"Thanks so much for visiting our school. As usual, the kids loved Chopper. My class enjoys your books so much. Next school year I am going to use them as examples in our personal narrative writing unit of study."
– J.T. Masterson, Second Grade Teacher, Rodeo Hills Elementary School • Rodeo, California
"We really like your books! They are so much fun to read. They also help us to write our own stories."
– Class 459, Rodeo Hills Elementary School • Rodeo, California
"Chopper and his mom, Amanda Steedley, did such a wonderful job at our school. The students were utterly enchanted at having a live dog in the library and getting to pet him at the end of the presentation. Chopper has a special ministry, using his 'tails' to take some of the fear from events that children can relate to, including those who were also adopted, have many doctor visits or are learning the importance of hygiene. Chopper is a very well behaved little guy that clearly loves children and Amanda is friendly and professional in her storytelling and delivery of their 'pawtographed' books. Thank you for a wonderful visit!" – Donna Chapman, River City Christian School • San Antonio, Texas
"Thank you so much, Amanda! ... We had a great time with you, Chopper, and Grandma and Grandpa today. They must be very proud of you. You are a beautiful person inside and out and a talented author! We all enjoyed your reading Chopper's stories to us, and the children will cherish their books as we read them again and again. As they see Chopper in the books they will remember what a precious dog he is and the fun they had with him today. Ella and Collin will be talking about Chopper for a long time. Thanks for allowing Ella to walk him. Chopper, thanks for being so sweet to children, because you warm their hearts. Our cousins in Mississippi will like getting to know you through your books, too." – Judy S., Retired Teacher, Mother and Grandmother • Decatur, Alabama
We would like for you to come back to our school with your next book. I will be recommending you to other schools in our district.
– Kathy Craig, Librarian - Priceville Elementary School • Priceville, Alabama
“Our students had a treat when Amanda and her precious dog, Chopper, visited our school this spring. Chopper’s story, “I’ve Been Picked!”, was such a delight for our 3rd and 4th graders, especially for those students who are adopted themselves. Chopper is an amazing little pup with excellent manners. He sat cheerfully by while his mommy read of his adoption into their family. I would highly recommend this dynamic duo visit your school.” – Deede Jones, Library Media Specialist Leon Sheffield Magnet Elementary • Decatur, Alabama
